The present paper aims to present the main results that have emerged from empirical evaluation of outcomes and process in psychotherapies conducted in institutional settings. In a first part, methods and results of an articulated longitudinal project - which included a training and restitution intervention - carried out in collaboration between 'Sapienza' University and the Mental Health Centers of a Roman ASL are summarized. Next, studies conducted by the research group on therapeutic change and process by applying narrative-based survey instruments to psychotherapy sessions at a University Clinical Center are illustrated. The main objectives of the research conducted are aimed at improving services, self-monitoring of psychotherapists and the development of a theoretical model that incentivizes therapeutic effectiveness.
